Community Office

Decorative

Located at 5605A Rivers Avenue (CARTA Route 10), in the heart of the project area, the I-526 LCC Community Office is your place to meet one-on-one with the project team and connect with resource specialists such as right-of-way relocation experts. Our goal is to answer your questions about the project and how it may impact your home, business, or daily commute. In addition, all project-related information and community resources, including free workshops, will be available. The Community Office is staffed with community liaisons and right-of-way specialists who can provide you with real-time project, mitigation, and relocation information. This is the central hub to learn more about the Community Commitments program.

Community History Preservation Program

“”

The North Charleston communities of Ferndale, Russelldale, Highland Terrace, and Liberty Park are home to a rich cultural history. The purpose of the Community History Preservation Program was to record the past of these neighborhoods through interviews with current and former residents; to collect historic photographs of the communities prior to the construction of I-26, I-526, and other developments; and to gather current images of the communities before any highway construction activities. This study documents the cultural history and character of the impacted neighboring communities and is available online and will be available at the new, state-of-the-art community center. Historical displays collected from this program will be included in the new community center. Click here to read it now!
